ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
The end-user acknowledges that Freewire Internet ("FREEWIRE") provides the telecommunications network facilities underlying the services provided. The use of FREEWIRE's telecommunications network facilities is subject to the following terms, breach of which may result in suspension or termination of the end-user's right to use the service:-
1. The FREEWIRE network may only be used for lawful purposes. Transmission of any material through the FREEWIRE network, or use of any part of it, in violation of any UK law or regulation is prohibited. Such prohibited transmission might include, but is not limited to: copyright material, material legally judged to be threatening or obscene, material protected by trade secret, whether or not the end user was aware of the content of the material or of the relevant law.
2. The end user shall be issued with a password to access the services and shall take all reasonable steps to keep such password private and confidential, and ensure that it does not become known to other persons. If the password becomes known to any other person the end user will immediately inform FREEWIRE and the password shall be changed immediately be changed.
3. The end user shall not use the service for transmission of computer viruses, for transmission of any material which is defamatory, offensive or abusive or of an obscene or menacing character, or which may cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety, or for the posting of any such material to bulletin boards or newsgroups in a manner which constitutes a violation or infringement of the rights of any person, firm or company (including but not limited to intellectual property rights).
4. The end user acknowledges that FREEWIRE is unable to exercise control over the content of any information passing over the FREEWIRE network and that FREEWIRE does not monitor or exercise any editorial control over the information passing over the FREEWIRE network. The end user further acknowledges that FREEWIRE hereby excludes all liability in respect of any transmission or reception of information of whatever kind, or the accuracy of the contents thereof, or the scrambling of any information or data.
5. The FREEWIRE network may be used by the end user to access other networks world-wide and the end user agrees to conform to any acceptable use policies.
6. In addition the end user undertakes to conform to any published Internet protocols and standards. In the event that communications by the end user do not conform to these standards, or if the end user makes profligate use of the FREEWIRE network to detriment of FREEWIRE or other FREEWIRE customers, FREEWIRE reserves the right to restrict passage of the end users communications until the end user complies with such standards or protocol or provides undertakings acceptable to FREEWIRE in respect of the end users future use.
7. FREEWIRE will provide the end user with 50 Megabytes (52,428,800 bytes) of storage which may be used for the publication of a personal web site only. Use of FREEWIRE webspace for business or commercial purposes is prohibited.
8. FREEWIRE will provide the end user with a single mailbox which may be used for the sending and receiving of personal messages only. Use of a FREEWIRE e-mail address for business or commercial purposes is prohibited.
9. The end user acknowledges that the mailbox must be accessed at least once every 60 days in order for the account to remain active. Should the mailbox not be so accessed, FREEWIRE reserves the right to terminate the end users account without further notice.
10. The end users mailbox will be limited to 20 Megabytes (20,971,520 bytes) If the mailbox exceeds this size FREEWIRE reserve the right to reject incoming messages or, at our discretion, manually remove messages, until the mailbox falls below the maximum permitted size.
11. The maximum size of a single electronic mail message that may be transmitted through the FREEWIRE network is limited to 10 Megabytes (10,485,760 bytes)
12. Collection of electronic mail from the mailbox allocated to the account or uploading of files to the personal webspace allocated to the account may only be carried out using a direct connection to the FREEWIRE network. Collecting mail or uploading files whilst connected to the networks of other service providers is prohibited.
13. The FREEWIRE dialup service is only available within the United Kingdom, and is limited to one dialup account per household. FREEWIRE reserve the right to refuse access to the service if your Caller Line Identification (CLI) is blocked or the telecommunications carrier you are using is unable to pass on this information.
In the event that the end user is in breach of any provision of this schedule, FREEWIRE shall be entitled to suspend services forthwith without notice.
