Setting up a connection to Freewire

This page describes how to setup a connection to Freewire from scratch on an Apple Macintosh machine running MacOS 9. It is assumed you have an existing ISP connection or have dial-up networking installed.

When using macos9 to connect to the internet, there are two items that need to be configured; TCP/IP and Remote Access. We start with TCP/IP.

TCP/IP

Step 1 In the Apple Menu (top left), go down to Control Panels then TCP/IP. Ignore this window for now. From the File menu select Configurations.

Step 2 There will be a set called Default. Highlight this with the mouse and select Duplicate. Name the set Freewire.
